Spud Bud terms of use
Effective date: August 13, 2026 · ← back to Spud Bud
These terms govern your use of the Spud Bud app, developed by Neil Anderson. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them.
In addition to these terms, your use of the app is subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). If these terms conflict with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA controls.
The app
Spud Bud lets you create and customize positive potato companions and display them in a Home Screen widget. A free tier includes a limited number of buds and a subset of customization options.
Spud Bud Premium (subscription)
- Spud Bud Premium is an auto-renewing subscription available as a yearly or monthly plan. Current pricing is shown in the app before purchase.
- Where offered, new subscribers receive a free trial. You can cancel during the trial without being charged.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling: subscriptions are managed through your Apple account — in the App Store, open your profile → Subscriptions, or in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Content you created with premium options remains viewable if your subscription lapses; premium options simply become unavailable for new selections.
Acceptable use
The app lets you write your own sign text. You're responsible for what you write. Your buds and their signs stay on your device — nothing is uploaded or shared by the app.
Intellectual property
The app, including its artwork, potato designs, and code, is owned by Neil Anderson. You may not copy, redistribute, or resell the app or its assets. Screenshots and screen recordings of your own buds for personal or social sharing are welcome.
Disclaimer
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Spud Bud offers encouragement, not professional advice; the potatoes, while supportive, are not licensed therapists. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Neil Anderson is not liable for any damages arising from use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version will be posted at this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
